According to a report by WaBetaInfo, the Meta-owned company may roll out an edit message feature to help users get rid of mistakes made in haste.

WhatsApp is currently working on a process that will allow the app to update messages using its edited version. This is a sign that WhatsApp will provide more features in the coming days.

If you are using an older version of WhatsApp, you will need to update your device to a newer version to use the edited version.

However, nothing can be said about when it will be implemented. At the moment it is not known how this feature will work. May be WhatsApp will show 'Edited' label with such message. Also, there may be a time limit on editing a message.

Earlier, a new feature was launched on WhatsApp, through which you could decide who can see when you are online. According to WaBetaInfo, the feature to hide online status is available to Android beta testers.

The new feature comes with WhatsApp beta Android 2.22.20.9 version. This feature was first announced in August this year. It also brings new privacy options in the app's settings, allowing users to change their last seen status to 'Nobody', 'Contacts' and 'Everyone'.
